This place is fabulous. It's one of the most beautiful that I've seen in my life.
It is a paradise on the south-western part of Thailand. The sandy beaches, crystal clear water with a variety tons of blue and sunny tropical climate make this island the perfect beach destination. There are some beaches that you can see more than three tons of blue in the water. There are other beaches in Phi Phi which are a literal desert.
Although the island is small, the infrastructure for tourism is quite good. There are ATM's and supermarket everywhere.
The first recommendation is sleep at least 2 nights. There are rounds rip boat from Phuket which departure to Phi Phi Island in the same day, but I think this option is very time-consuming. We decided to sleep 2 nights there. We used the extra free time to rent a speedboat full day trip to go to other areas of the island. This tour covered Phi Phi Don ( the main island of Phi Phi) which includes Monkey Beach, Bay View, Bamboo Island and Mosquito Island. Also, this tour covers Phi Phi Lay (the best side of Phi Phi Island) which comprises Maya Beach and Viking Cave.
The best spot is Maya Bay which is the place where the movie "The Beach" with Leonardo Di Caprio was produced. This site is fantastic. I think it the best beach that I have visited in my life. The scenery is spectacular with the beach surrounded by big mountains.
I would like to highlight Monkey Beach. The wild monkeys wait for you to be fed. You should pay attention to give them food. It's fascinating regarding beauty as well as Bamboo Island.
The Pileh Lagoon is like a natural swimming pool around big rocks. The boat didn't spend a lot of time there but honestly, I would like to stay there a couple of hours.
In the end, you can't see the dawn in the middle of nowhere. The boat stops in the ocean, and you end up your day drinking coconut water.
