The capital of South Australia is a small city with country style. Residents know that the town is small and they are very proud of it. They want to keep the traditionalism.
We spent the first day hanging around the city. Everything is really close, and you don't need a lot of time to understand the directions of the town. The main attractions of the city are on Rundle Street and Hindley Street. The architecture is fascinating, and buildings are unblemished. There are lots of churches in the city. It's happened to see that Adelaide was shaped by religious freedom.
The main attraction of Adelaide is Barossa Valley. It is the most famous wine region in Australia. The goal was savor wines on our way across the beautiful Barossa area.We hired a full day tour at Enjoy Adelaide.
Our morning started with a quick tour of the city sights and a first stop to visit Haigh's Chocolate Factory. We learned how chocolate is made from raw cocoa beans and then we enjoyed a range of unique chocolate tasting including truffles and bars. The next stop was Mt. Lofty lookout to admire the view across the valley, and then we went to Hahndorf which is a small Germany village in Adelaide Hills to enjoy some gourmet food.
In the afternoon our destination was Barossa winery tour. Our guide explained a little bit about the history of this region and then we had an opportunity to have tastings at 3 great wineries with the others in our group. We visited Chateau Yaldara, Grant Burge, and Chateau Dorrien wineries. The first and third wineries were the best regarding the quality of the wine.
We had a great time on this tour. The tour itself was very reasonably priced (about AU$ 70,00 per person).Well worth the time and money!
